Not every scratch needs paint. A light scuff in the clear coat can often be polished out; a scratch down to primer or metal needs to be filled and refinished.

How do I know if a scratch needs paint?
Run a fingernail across it. If the nail catches, it has likely gone through the clear coat and needs refinishing.
Should I use a scratch pen first?
On a deep scratch it can make the final repair harder. Send us a photo first.
